台風が接近した影響か、不安定な天候が続いています。
秋が近づいている証拠ですね。
ところで、皆さんはお部屋をきれいにしていますか？
僕は休日に一気に片づける派なのですが、少し油断するとどんどん散らかってしまいます。
部屋のきれいさは精神衛生上とても大切と考えます。部屋が乱れていると、思考が乱れます。集中しにくくなるのです。
散漫とした精神状態では、日々のストレスに勇気を持って対峙することが難しくなります。
なので、ベッドを片付けましょう、テーブルをきれいにしましょう、お皿を洗いましょう！
人生を変えるものは、心躍るような成功体験や、圧倒的なトラウマだけではないです。
むしろ目の前にある小さなことの積み重ねで、我々は変わることができます。
今自分がいる部屋を見渡してみてください。きっと少しでも良くできる箇所があると思います。
すべてをピカピカにする必要はありません。気づいたところを、少し直してください。
その積み重ねが自信となり、自信は態度に現れます。勇気を持つことができ、周りにも勇気を分け与えることができます。
みんなが部屋を少しきれいにしたら、その分世界も少しきれいになる！素敵だと思いませんか？

We just dodged another hurricane last week. The weather is quite unpredictable these days. Autumn is just around the corner.
By the way, how clean is your room?
Since I work late on the weekdays, I tend to do my cleaning on the weekends. So if I “forget” to clean for a day or two, then all hell breaks loose.
I believe, being in a clean room is crucial to our mental health. Our mind just can’t process the extra information of a cluttered room.
For example, if you got a stack of magazine right in front of you, well, those magazines will always take up a portion of your mind.
In order to face our days with great courage, we must stay mentally fit. Which is why you need to do your dishes, laundry, make your bed and clean your room etc. etc.
Yes, our lives are often changed by astonishing feats and traumatizing defeats, but those are rare.
What make up our lives are the everyday little things. Little habits and words we choose to say.
These things accumulate and shape who we are.
Look around the room you are in. Do you see anything that you’d like to change or fix? If so, go ahead and do it. You don’t have to fix everything. Just one thing at a time.
Fixing one, will give you enough confidence to fix two, then three, then the whole room, your surroundings, and maybe even the world!
Wouldn’t that be beautiful?
